May 19, 2018, 10 AM – 2PM in the Fellowship Hall
The Catawba County Library – through an NEH grant and partnerships with the Historical Association of Catawba County and the Digital Heritage Center of NC – is collecting the Hmong community’s cultural heritage and preserving it for education and research through digital technology.
Hmong residents are encouraged to bring items that represent their lives and culture to collection days, where the artifacts will be scanned or photographed and immediately returned to their owners. Oral histories will be recorded on video for people who would like to share their stories.
The Library will also host a series of cultural programs and book discussions to showcase Hmong traditions and raise the profile of the community in Catawba County and throughout the country.
I like to encourage True Life Church to participate and showcase our contributions as it relates to Christianity.
